Clay has been leading me down the garden path for more years than I care to count. Each new discovery keeps me hoping for more clarity, more expressive work. I love using the pots my friends have made. Their individuality and liveliness perk up even the grayest day. I’ve recently become so fond of plaids that you’ll see them on my plates. The process of making them has been intriguing and fun.

Working with clay and glazes and all of the wonderful forming tools and kilns has been part of my life since high school. I’ve always been drawn to the basics: simple forms for routine use in the kitchen or dining room. Basic, yes, but there is plenty there. Every step of the way can be examined and re-examined and challenged. Change is constant— and fascinating.
